7 Students will be using the Course 2 McDougal Littell Textbook. Covering all or parts of 12 different
chapters. The sequence of chapters is
designed specifically to better meet the needs of the students. Starting with the first half of chapter 13
(probability) and proceeding to chapter 1 (variables and equations). Then, the sequence is as follows: chapter 6 (multi-step equations and
inequalities), 2.1-2.4 (integer operations), 5.1-5.4 (rational number operations),
7.1-7.6 (ratio, proportion, and percent), chapter 8 (polygons and
transformations), chapters 10-12 (measurement, area, volume, linear equations
and graphs, and data analysis), chapter 9 (real numbers and right triangles),
and finally ending with chapter 3 (solving equations and inequalities).

MATH 7
Grading Procedures:
1.
Tests are worth 100 points;
Section Quizzes are worth 50 points;
Problem of the Day (P.O.D.) Quizzes and Pop Quizzes may be given periodically
and will vary in points. Retakes of
tests and quizzes are allowed with a grade that is below 70%. In order to
retake a test or quiz, the retake must be done within the designated time
(within 5 days from the time it was returned).
I will average the grades and record the new points. The highest I will raise a grade is to a “C”
- 70%. Retakes are only offered in Trimesters 1 and 2.
2.
Special Projects are worth 75 points and will be assigned throughout the
school year (approximately one per trimester).
They will be introduced and begun in class. However, work
is expected to be done outside of school.
3. Homework will not be collected daily. I will check-in homework and assign up to
four points. In order to earn all 4
points, homework is in on time, in pencil, and ALL work is shown. Work
should not be answers only. Points will
be deducted accordingly. Homework will
be accepted late, but partial credit will be applied. However, after mid-term progress report go home, no homework will be accepted
late.
4. Extra Credit will be offered throughout the
trimester (approximately three times per trimester). Students are expected and encouraged to take
advantage of the opportunities available all trimester long.
